Meet Zakaria Hersi, a Swedish-Somali graduate in Economics from Stockholm University. Zakaria is the Chairman of Somali Awareness through Volunteering and Education (SAVE), a non-profit organization whose vision is to promote health, education, peace, inclusion and combating poverty in Somalia. Zakara is quite the entrepreneurial person with various start-ups under his belt, including work with the Swedish Trade Council! He is a member of Young Entrepreneurs of Sweden (YEOS), a network of Sweden’s foremost young entrepreneurs. Zakaria and his Somali friends and colleagues at SAVE do their part to contribute back to Somalia and often take part in news interviews such as the one above where Zakaria and Jihan Mohamed, the Vice-Chair of SAVE paint a positive narrative of events in Somalia!
